“The decision by Ten Capital to axe its local news service represents another blow to the diversity of news services in the Canberra region, ACT Senator Kate Lundy said today.
“Ten Capital was Canberra’s original commercial news network prior to aggregation, and their decision to discontinue their local news is extremely disappointing,” Senator Lundy said.
“In the past year, this region has already lost Prime local news, and the loss of Ten Capital news means another reduction in the diversity and coverage of regional news, current affairs and events.
“I am also deeply concerned about the significant lob losses that will result from Ten Capital’s decision, and I call on Ten Capital to reconsider their decision,” Senator Lundy said.
