Hello,

Congratulations on this initiative. I believe it is a great idea and makes people feel closer to politicians. I cannot believe that so few politicians are doing this so far. It will for sure be something normal in a few years time. Also, your site is quite decent. I would only suggest that you change com.au to org.au :-) as it would probably more sensible.

Regards,

Great work Kate. I think the Obama election campaign's use of video and other technologies shows how communications technology and particularly video is an essential part of any campaign strategy to truly engage with all constituents.

The next election truly will be the "youtube" election. And you've already stolen the march on the other pollies in getting your web video presence established.

Great stuff!

Cheers

I don’t see why there would be a need to supplement audio and video material (and their transcriptions) with other forms of content. I would where applicable link between types of content by making mention of the content or as you have currently done, embed the content within a blog entry. I don’t understand however how you have currently decided to structure content within the site—Pia’s advice is probably going to be better in answering your question. (:

Kind regards.

Thanks Simon - first comment back! Given your interest, do you think vodcasts (and transcripts) need to be supplemented by a blog, speech or press release, or can stand alone?

I'm pleased to see you trying this kind of format, the missed opportunities are just to numerous, I hope this goes well for you, and then maybe others might realise where the future lies.
Thanks Tony..

I’m very pleased that finally some politians have begun to create online presences of conversation offering more than the one-way medium most press-release and statement websites seem to offer.

Good luck with vodcast—I’ll certainly be making a point of tuning in and offering comments if something catches my eye.

Thanks. (:
