A National Archives’ website about Australia’s prime ministers will be launched on Tuesday 15 September by Senator for the ACT, Kate Lundy at the relocated Australian Prime Ministers Centre at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House.
Redeveloped with the assistance of the centre, the Australia’s Prime Ministers website contains current reference information – from fast facts and timelines to intriguing snippets – and an authoritative biography for each of Australia’s 26 prime ministers. It also provides a portal with directions to original material held in more than 70 institutions in Australia and around the world.
Visit it at http://primeministers.naa.gov.au
Senator for the ACT Kate Lundy said, “The site will enhance Australians’ understanding of their national leadership and political history. Since the original launch in 2002 it has become one of the most popular sites developed by the Archives. What better place to launch the new site than at the Australian Prime Ministers Centre, which was established to provide a national focus for research and scholarship in prime ministerial studies.”
The Australian Prime Ministers Centre is a core component of the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House.
The website and centre are being launched by Senator Kate Lundy at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House (MoAD) at 3.30pm on Tuesday 15 September.
MoAD’s Manager, Research and Collection Development, Michael Richards, is available for interview and interview requests for Senator Lundy can be directed to Pia Waugh
