Six National Champions Heading To Canberra for Aussie Junior Dirt Track Titles This Weekend

Senator Kate Lundy is officially opening the 2009 Australian Junior Dirt Track Championship tomorrow at 9am.

Six current Australian Champions are heading to Canberra this weekend for the 2009 Australian Junior Dirt Track Championships at Fairbairn Park, 14/15 November 2009, and if all of the lights are green, they’ll take home another Australian title or two.

The six; Joe Morris from Kurri Kurri NSW, Brendan Sharp from Taree NSW, Jake Allen from Queensland’s Gold Coast, Luke Burgess from Ayr in Far North Queensland and Ben Cook and Brady Kurtz from Cowra NSW, have each entered one or more classes in this years event.

Dirt Track racing is widely regarded as the breeding ground for Australia’s World Champion Road Racers.

WHAT’S ON: 2009 Australian Junior Dirt Track Championship

WHERE: ACT Motor Cycle Club, Fairbairn Park Motorsport Complex, Pialligo Ave, Majura ACT, between Oaks Estate Road and Sutton Road, 5 kilometres past the airport, near Queanbeyan.

WHEN: Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November 2009

Friday 13 November 2009: Competitor’s Sign On, Scrutineering and Noise Testing

Saturday 14 November 2009: Gates open to the public at 9am for the Riders briefing and official opening by Senator Kate Lundy. Followed by official practice and qualifying heats through until 4pm.

Sunday 15 November 2009: Gates open to the public at 9am. Top 12 qualifiers in each class race in the Finals for Australian Championships. Followed by presentation of trophies to new Australian Champions, second and third placed in each class.

SPECTATOR ENTRY FEES:

Spectator entry is free for ACTMCC members.

Non members only $5 per person, or $10 per carload for non-members, with proceeds going to Breast Cancer research.
