Senior government leaders and industry will meet in Canberra tomorrow (Thursday 26 November, 2009) to discuss accessibility of government communications services for people with disabilities hosted by the Australian Communications Consumer Action Network (ACCAN) and Senator for the ACT Kate Lundy.
The nation’s key decision makers will discuss issues of social inclusion and communications accessibility, the changing role of citizen participation and planning for a more accessible government.
The Gov.20 Roundtable on Accessibility for People with Disabilities will be opened by Senator Stephen Conroy, Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy.
Speakers at the seminar include: Senator Kate Lundy, Bill Shorten, Parliamentary Secretary for Disabilities and Children’s Services, Dr Nicholas Gruen, Chair of the Government 2.0 Taskforce, Graeme Innes AM, Disability Discrimination Commissioner and Abul Rizvi, Deputy Secretary, Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy.
