Senator Humphries has today defined a new extreme in political contortions as he performed a complete backflip on his previous hand-over-heart commitment to wanting an ETS for the sake of the environment.
In addition, he had nowhere to hide when challenged about Shadow Finance Minister Senator Barnaby Joyce’s plans to pay for the Coalition’s climate con job.
Today Senator Joyce suggested the Coalition will slash staffing numbers in the public sector, putting at risk the provision of vital welfare, safety and health services and making a mockery of Senator Humphries purported concern and commitment for the ACT.
Senator Humphries must clarify whether the Coalition has plans to cut jobs in the Australian Federal Public Service, cutting jobs in the ACT.
Senator Humphries ‘real local solution’ and idea of ‘standing up for Canberra’ is to backflip on the ETS, backflip on public sector jobs and backflip on the ACT.
