Investing in local jobs and education
The Rudd Labor Government’s economic and infrastructure stimulus is supporting local jobs and the Canberra economy. Investments include:

As a mother, Kate Lundy wants to see local children in the best schools that Government can provide.
- $242.705 million for 257 halls and classrooms across the ACT’s public and private schools.
- $28.68 million for the construction and maintenance for 356 social and defence homes.
- $235.9 million for ACT roads
- 6,432 new computers for ACT secondary schools with students in years 9 to12.
- $9.589 million for 6 Canberra Institute of Technology projects, training and upskilling in sciences and engineering.
- 5 more GP training places bringing the number of Canberra registrars in training to more than 30.
- $93,083 funding for respite carers in the ACT
- $464,999 for ACT heritage projects
- $2 million to upgrade Eddison and Glebe Parks
- A super fast National Broadband Network to cover all of the ACT, improving internet speeds by at least ten times.
