The Rudd Labor Government’s economic and infrastructure stimulus is supporting local jobs and the Canberra economy. Investments include:

Senator Lundy and a child with a computer

As a mother, Kate Lundy wants to see local children in the best schools that Government can provide.

  • $242.705 million for 257 halls and classrooms across the ACT’s public and private schools.
  • $28.68 million for the construction and maintenance for 356 social and defence homes.
  • $235.9 million for ACT roads
  • 6,432 new computers for ACT secondary schools with students in years 9 to12.
  • $9.589 million for 6 Canberra Institute of Technology projects, training and upskilling in sciences and engineering.
  • 5 more GP training places bringing the number of Canberra registrars in training to more than 30.
  • $93,083 funding for respite carers in the ACT
  • $464,999 for ACT heritage projects
  • $2 million to upgrade Eddison and Glebe Parks
  • A super fast National Broadband Network to cover all of the ACT, improving internet speeds by at least ten times.
