National Association of Women in Construction ACT Chapter inaugural awards for excellence

The National Association of Women in Construction recently achieved Chapter status and is celebrating by holding its inaugural Awards for Excellence on Thursday, 10 June 2010 at the National Portrait Gallery. Our awards will be opened by Senator Kate Lundy who was responsible for launching NAWIC in the ACT in July 2008.

These will be the first awards of their kind in Canberra aimed at recognising the outstanding achievement of women in the construction industry. The awards will recognise those women who actively support and promote participation of women in the construction industry, women who enter into and excel in non-traditional sectors of the construction industry, professional women and young achievers who have entered the industry and have started making a difference.

NAWIC’s core vision is to encourage and support women who pursue careers in this industry and in so doing, to raise their profile through events like the Awards for Excellence.

This year we are proud to have the support of our event partners, Coffey and CIC Australia.

Our individual awards are sponsored by CPSISC for The Crystal Vision Award, the ACT Building and Construction Training Fund Authority for the Tradeswoman of the Year awards, Altus Page Kirkland for Professional Woman of the Year Award and Meyer Vandenberg Lawyers for Young Achiever of the Year.
